Building Armatures

Professional Armature- purchased on-line from www.animationsupplies.net. This was very costly at  €120 but I hope it will allow for a smoother, more professional looking movement of the main character(the Old Lady). This product was quite difficult and time consuming to assemble. Each iron rod had to be measured and cut to size with a hacksaw, making it difficult to get the appendages to be the exact same size; one of the legs on mine is slightly longer than the other. Also the joints are quite big which hindered the design as arms and legs had to be wider than initial designs in order to cover the armature.

Home-made Armatures for the man with the ice-cream and the little girl characters. Made with twisted wire (using an electric drill to twist tightly) and milliput.

Hands made with plastic coated wire used in packaging of toys and paperclips
